TriAthy 2008 triathlon is scheduled to take place in Athy, Co. Kildare on Saturday 31st May next. Organised under the auspices of Trilogy and Belpark triathlon clubs, last year's inaugural event proved an instant success by setting three new Irish records! The race attracted an elite field of triathletes guaranteeing both national and international interest.

This year, the TriAthy Team made a very conscious effort to select partners and sponsors who can offer triathletes valuable professional information, support and guidance, not only on the day of the race but also throughout their training and racing careers.
At the finishing gantry, all triathletes will be encouraged to enter the designated Recovery Zone where they will be individually treated to a refreshing recovery drink and advice on nutrition. Importantly, Provon Revive will feature as a very integral part of the post race activity, which will be important to the atmosphere and buzz surrounding the event.
Already firmly established as Ireland's fastest triathlon event, TriAthy 2008 is on course to break more Irish records. Registration for this year's event opened on 1st January, and to date over 900 places have been secured! This is an overwhelming endorsement by the triathlon community and illustrates the perceived quality of the race. At this rate, it is anticipated that the 2008 event will again become Ireland's biggest triathlon with up to 1,400 competitors taking part on the day.
There is also great excitement in the air that new course records and indeed, new Irish records will be set, as the defending TriAthy champions return to battle it out with current world and ex-world champions for podium position. TriAthy 2008 proudly boasts some of the most prominent names in the sport!! Irish celebrity, Craig Doyle (BBC Grandstand, Irish Presenter) a seasoned TriAthy triathlete will also race on the day. It will be quite a sprint to the finish!
